Welcome to Padaia. We respect your privacy and consider it important that your personal data is handled with care. In this privacy policy, we explain what data we collect, why we collect it, and what your rights are.

Padaia is an app that lets you schedule padel matches, invite players, and stay informed via push notifications. This privacy policy applies to the Padaia mobile app (iOS and Android) and the website padaia.app.

3. What data do we collect?

3.1 Account data

When you create an account, we collect:

  • Name – For identification within the app
  • Email address – For login and account management
  • Profile photo (optional) – For personalisation of your profile
  • Password (optional) – Stored in encrypted form for authentication

3.2 Padel-related data

For the operation of the app, we collect:

  • Contacts – The padel friends you add to your contact list
  • Appointments – Details of scheduled padel matches (date, time, location, participants)
  • Invitations – Status of sent and received invitations
  • Locations – Padel venues you use or mark as a favourite

3.3 Technical data

  • Device information – Device type, operating system, app version
  • Push notification tokens – For sending notifications (Firebase Cloud Messaging)
  • Location data (with permission only) – To show nearby padel venues
  • Crash logs – Technical error reports to improve the app (Firebase Crashlytics)

3.4 Usage and interaction data

  • Last seen – To show when users were last active
  • Notification settings – Your preferences for receiving alerts

4. Why do we collect this data?

We use your data for:

  • Providing our service – Enabling padel matches, invitations, and notifications
  • Account management – Login, password reset, profile settings
  • Communication – Push notifications about new invitations, match changes, and reminders
  • App improvement – Analysing crashes and bugs to improve the app
  • Security – Protecting your account and preventing misuse

Please note: We NEVER share your data with third parties for marketing purposes. We do not sell data and do not use advertising networks.

5. With whom do we share your data?

5.1 Other users

Within the app, other users may see certain information about you when you interact with them:

  • Your name and profile photo (if you have set one)
  • Whether you are available for invitations
  • Your responses to invitations (accepted, declined)
  • Matches you participate in

5.2 Technical service providers

We use reliable third-party services to operate the app:

  • Supabase – Database and authentication (hosted in the EU)
  • Firebase (Google) – Push notifications and crash reporting
  • Cloudflare – Hosting and security of the website

These providers only have access to data necessary for their services and may not use it for their own purposes.

5.3 Legal obligations

We may share your data if we are legally required to do so, for example in response to a court order.

6. Security of your data

We take the security of your data seriously and apply appropriate measures:

  • Encryption – All communication between the app and server is encrypted (HTTPS/TLS)
  • Password security – Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text
  • Access control – Row Level Security (RLS) ensures users can only access their own data
  • Secure hosting – Our database is hosted on Supabase within the EU
  • Regular updates – We keep our systems up to date with the latest security patches

7. Retention period

We retain your data for as long as you have an active account. If you delete your account, your personal data will be permanently erased within 30 days.

Some data may be retained for longer to comply with legal obligations or to resolve disputes (for example, crash logs are retained for a maximum of 90 days).

8. Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the following rights:

  • Right of access – You can request to see what data we hold about you
  • Right to rectification – You can have inaccurate data corrected
  • Right to erasure – You can have your account and data deleted
  • Right to restriction – You can request to restrict the processing of your data
  • Right to data portability – You can request your data in a structured format
  • Right to object – You can object to the processing of your data

You can delete your account and data directly in the app via Profile → Settings → Delete account.

9. Cookies and tracking

The Padaia mobile app uses no cookies or tracking for advertising purposes. We only use technically necessary data:

  • Authentication tokens to keep you logged in
  • Local app settings (stored on your device)
  • Firebase Analytics for crash reporting (no personal identification)

The website padaia.app uses minimal technical cookies necessary for the operation of the site.

10. Children

If you believe we have inadvertently collected data from a minor, please contact us at privacy@padaia.app.

11. International transfers

Your data is primarily stored within the European Union (Supabase hosting). Firebase (Google) may process data in countries outside the EU, but only under appropriate safeguards in accordance with the GDPR.

12. Changes to this privacy policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you through the app or by email. We recommend reviewing this policy periodically.
